Practical Methods Minor Project

Jean Demars and Felix Dragan

This project aims at working with asylum seekers arriving to London and having to travel and operate through a space that is completely foreign to them, physically as well as institutionally. This will involve working closely with a group, which will define the content through personal experiences, at times showing hidden structures or “wrong” paths.
The project has gone in the direction of a web-platform which could be used as community news and communication, as well as offering different services such as free-rider post, anonymous denunciation board, image/sound repository, events advertisement and will include a feedback section in relation to itself.

Project Resources:

- minor project PROPOSAL

- minor project PLAN

The Lamp Tomato

A discourse about the modes the public opinions/feedbacks are being (automatically) processed for commercial and political purposes.

Abstract

Nowadays moderated systems (usually found on newspapers websites) or (very likely) internal software tools of different commercial companies or institutions take peoples' feedbacks on their products as a raw material of further processing.
This helps them to automatize the internalisation of these opinions so that can work out how to shape their policies of production and/or 'education' of the customer.
