PROGRAMME

VJ MOKITAL
Using a mix of VJ software and electronic hardware Mokital provides a selection of visuals to accompany music performances at the MediaShed delving into the world of Japanese Anime, retro advertising and old movies.

GOOD_BAD_UGLY
The final confrontation of the three gunmen from Sergio Leone's classic spaghetti western re-edited by filmmaker David Valentine into a 13 minute short that reveals their characters in flashback and presented with a new live soundtrack by DJ Hybernation using two turntables and some old vinyl.

CCTV VIDEO SNIFFIN
A film installation on 16 trash monitors put together by the MediaShed crew and featuring a film put together by filmmaker David Valentine working with a group of young people to hack local CCTV networks to make a commercial about Free-Media.

JASON HICKS
A digital artist and compositor with a relish for horror and science fiction imagery, as well as screening short films Basildon Destroyed and UFO Attack the MediaShed exhibits a selection of the bloody artwork from his www.dark-visions.co.uk website.

KEITH WATTS
Showing the artist’s commercial and experimental illustration and animation work including t-shirt designs for Supa-7, storyboards and illustrations for (among others) Mother, BBC and FRANK, a music video for Smother and a Discovery Channel mini-documentary on Hong Kong artist Michael Lau.

CHRIS GARRAD
An old fashioned approach to creature effects that shuns the more modern CGI approach, originally sculpted in clay the alien creatures are either cast as fibre-glass statures or as latex masks and puppets which the audience are invited to play with.

DJ LIGNTNING
The local DJ, composer and pirate aka one half of Wes Cliff provides tonight’s gallery music mixing hip-hop beats, digital dance and mellow electronica.

ELEPHANTS DREAM
A screening of the world's first digital CG 3D animated short film created entirely using Open Source software made by the Blender Foundation and the Orange Group in Amsterdam.

REASON OR ROMANZA
Two musicians originally from Southend but now living in East London play their soulful electronica compositions mixing digital beats with acoustic performance, combining lap-tops with guitars and the human voice to create some emotionally charged moods.
