MA in Interactive Media student
Currently studying: Media and Culture Industry
A course that draws on the expertise of practitioners in media art and cultural institutions such as digital arts, music, robotics, and software in galleries, social intervention and on the web. The course emphasises the creative elements in media arts and industries and the methodological transformation of creative concepts in practical work. The convenor will organise a series of practitioner-led sessions. In the sessions, we will discuss in detail the nature of creative and methodological production within various settings. You will bring together critical theoretical perspectives with empirical, 'hands-on' knowledge of new media technologies. This, in turn, will promote an understanding of the complexity of contemporary culture at a range of different levels, and will enhance practical skills, art-related and methodological knowledge needed to become a cultural researcher or ‘speculative’ cultural practitioner in the field of digital media.
